Electronic Evidence Discovery and Daticon Merge Brands to Affirm Service Line Expansion
Technology and Services team integration complete; new Daticon EED brand identity represents more than 20 years of experience and innovation in the eDiscovery industry
KIRKLAND, Wash. — January 26, 2009 — Electronic Evidence Discovery Inc. (EED), a leading international provider of eDiscovery services, today announced its new brand, Daticon EED (www.daticon-eed.com). In 2008 EED, which has a rich heritage in the eDiscovery market, made a number of major investments to bolster its ability to deliver industry-leading processes, consulting and technology, the most significant being its acquisition of Daticon LLC in July. Today, the single integrated company, Daticon EED, offers corporations in the Fortune 500 and law firms in the NLJ 250 that require both national and international eDiscovery capabilities the powerful combination of a proven methodology that has never been successfully challenged in court, highly skilled consultants and innovative technology. This combined entity will drive positive case outcomes while simultaneously reducing the cost and minimizing the risk of eDiscovery.
"We purchased Daticon to expand our service reach in the Northeast, add to our base of talent and experience and increase our processing, analytics, hosting and production capabilities," said Dave McCann, president and CEO of Daticon EED. "After seeing the great results the combined entity has already delivered to multiple customers within the first six months of integration, it was a natural step to combine our brands. Few eDiscovery vendors today have the skills, resources and enabling technology platform to fully satisfy the eDiscovery requirements of large, multinational corporations and their law firms, but Daticon EED is setting the bar for managing a full case docket, including highly complex cases."
The company's improvements in 2008 have centered on people, process and technology with the ultimate goal of helping clients to improve case outcomes, reduce the cost and minimize the risk of eDiscovery. In particular, Daticon EED's customers will see the results of these efforts in the following ways:
PEOPLE
- The 85 eDiscovery experts added as part of the acquisition of Daticon provide enhanced service to customers in the Northeast.
- A team of process design consultants draws on the shared best practices of EED and Daticon to better prepare clients for the eDiscovery process, reducing overall costs.
- Daticon EED's partnership with IBM adds ECM and eDiscovery experts to help clients make systems and processes more efficient.
PROCESS
- Continuously refined during more than 20 years, Daticon EED's exclusive Jessen eDiscovery Methodology has never been successfully challenged in court in more than 60 attempts. Recent refinements to the methodology include:
- The Discovery Process Excellence portal (DPX), which provides clients and Daticon EED's staff with real-time information and status on projects.
- Automated workflow processes for Production Rules Manager that enforces business rules to increase the accuracy and speed of exports for production.
- Daticon's expertise in fast conversion work for smaller and medium cases into Concordance and Summation complements EED's expertise in end-to-end hosted review of larger cases law firms and corporations cannot in-source.
- Daticon's proven expertise in scanning and coding at its Norwich Center complements EED's historic focus on native review.
TECHNOLOGY
- For maximum client quality of service, Daticon EED has data centers in Kirkland, WA; Norwich, CT; and London, UK. By operating with three service centers, the company can provide service quality and capacity in the right location to handle the largest, most complex eDiscovery cases.
- Significant enhancements made to Discovery Partner—Daticon EED's native hosted review platform—improve usability for clients and reduce the cost and risk of eDiscovery including: improved batch downloading, fast search and robust document conversion capabilities.
- Data center upgrades of high speed switches from Foundry Networks accelerate Daticon EED's ability to load and process data three times faster than previously possible—enabling the company to more quickly bring evidence online for review and meet court deadlines.
McCann concluded, "We're proud of the new Daticon EED brand and believe it represents our efforts to continually improve the service we provide to our clients. We're looking forward to the future and will be announcing even more enhancements in the coming months."
